The Program
Alpha Terrace is the original Alpha Service established in the mid 80’s. Staff at Terrace actively facilitate the development of independence and decision making skills. The aim is to provide a safe place to practise, learn and build trusting relationships.
The Terrace and Pre-Voc programs operate at the one site.
Fees & Charges
The Quarterly Placement fee is $20.27 per week for 46 weeks, or $10.14 per week for clients under 21. This contributes to the costs of activities held in the centre. Clients attending on a part-time basis will be charged $6.76 per day, up to a maximum of $20.27 per week.
Client Activity fees – no specific fees are charged, but costs in relation to community access, food purchases and personal incidentals are the client’s responsibility. These range from $20 - 30 per week.
Lunch is NOT provided
Transport is NOT provided, as clients are encouraged to travel independently.

Placement Fees: Quarterly fee charged by AAI directly to clients. |
This fee covers all additional direct program costs including, daily living skills training, art consumables, hygiene supplies and transport to community activities during the program day. It also covers other sundry expenses such as IT support for computers, gym equipment, videos for entertainment and an extensive range of other client activities.

Client Activity Fees: Client's own money, requested as needed according to individual client's circumstances. |
These are costs directly related to the individual client's activity plan such as gym and swimming pool fees, lunches at café's, cooking ingredients etc. This money remains the property of the client and is expended only on their chosen activities. The money is held in a trust account and drawn on when required and topped up as needed. |
Hours of Service
Nominal hours are from 9.00am to 3.00 pm Monday –Friday, 46 weeks of the year. Part-time placements are also available.

The service currently has 25 clients.

Communication
Activities are designed to enable the client to manage their environment and communicate more effectively.
Social Skills
The aim of this program is to increase the client’s awareness of self and others in a variety of settings and to understand the social norms that operate in our community.
Positive Change
We develop client skills to better monitor, control and understand their behaviour. Programs are tailored to individual needs and target actions that impede learning and growth.
Independent Living Skills
Activities provide an opportunity to learn skills at the client’s level and assist them to increase their independence and control over their lives.
Recreation and Leisure
Clients choose and participate in activities that assist them to use their leisure time fully.
Community Participation & Inclusion
We facilitate and encourage community inclusion and participation in everyday aspects of life and promote the recognition of clients as valued members of society.
Alpha Pre-Vocational Training
At Alpha ‘Pre-Voc’ specific programs are designed to bridge the gap between school and employment options.
The training program includes topics such as, Planning for Employment and Independent Living designed to assist individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, or similar needs, to develop the necessary skills that assist in gaining open employment.

A basketball team competes in a supported competition and all clients participate in weekly client meetings.
All clients may transfer between both programs according to need.
