ATSS Client Fees & Charges

Alpha is committed to maximising the support provided by government funding for all services. Most government funding is provided by the Victorian State Department of Human Services through funds allocated directly to individual clients and some grants provided directly to the agency. Government funding contributes approximately 90% of the costs of the provision of the buildings, staff and general operating overheads. However additional client related costs are not covered in full by the available funding.

In accordance with the Department of Human Services guidelines, service users are required to contribute to the cost of providing services through the payment of service fees. Alpha levies the following fees for all day programs.

FUNDING AND FEES

PURPOSE

Placement Fees:

Quarterly fee charged by AAI directly to clients.

This fee covers all additional direct program costs including, daily living skills training, art consumables, hygiene supplies and transport to community activities during the program day. It also covers other sundry expenses such as IT support for computers, gym equipment, videos for entertainment and an extensive range of other client activities.

Client Activity Fees:

Client's own money, requested as needed according to individual client's circumstances.

These are costs directly related to the individual client's activity plan such as gym and swimming pool fees, lunches at cafés, cooking ingredients etc.

This money remains the property of the client and is expended only on their chosen activities. The money is held in a trust account and drawn on when required and topped up as needed.

Fees Assessment

These charges are made in accordance with the DHS guidelines and are based on an assessment of each client's capacity to pay assuming the client' income is the Disability Pension.

Client Activity Fees

Currently Client Program Fees range between $20.00 and $30.00 per week, depending on the individual client's interests and resources.

Quarterly Placement Fees

  • The Quarterly Placement Fee is $21.57 per week for 46 weeks for those on a full pension.
  • Clients who do not receive a full disability pension or are under 21 years of age will be charged a Quarterly Placement Fee at a rate of $10.79 per week.
  • Clients attending on a part time basis will be charged $7.19 per day, up to a maximum $21.57 per week.

Transport

  • An individual transport plan can be negotiated with the client.
